Crab Island Rum Distillery is located in Vieques, Puerto Rico – and is the first handcrafted, artisan rum distillery on the Island.

During the British Colonial period a Puerto Rican poet Luis Torres named Vieques Puerto Rico “Crab Island” due to a large population of crabs on the island.

Our Crab Island Rum Añejo is a distillate made from sugar cane molasses and aged for a minimum of 14 months.
This rum is smooth on the palate and very clean, its simplicity makes it ideal for any drink of classic rum.
Crab Island’s base is sugar cane molasses, which is diluted with water and fermented with the addition of yeast.

The first handcrafted, artisan rum distillery on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Crab Island Anejo is a distillate made from sugar cane molasses and aged for a minimum of 14 months and stored in Bourbon barrels for an even richer flavor. This rum is smooth on the palate and very clean, its simplicity makes it ideal for any drink of classic rum. The aging time gives it an intense and complex flavor, with notes of caramel and spices, which makes it a special rum to be enjoyed with a mojito, or any natural juice, and all kinds of classic cocktails.
The three-year-old Crab Island Rum is a mature rum with accentuated notes from the barrel. This product was made in 2022, marking three years since the first distillation. By stirring it in a glass cup, you can see how the sugars in the wood take longer to settle to the bottom due to the time it was exposed to the changes in the barrel. The aroma is balanced and is consistent with the effect of the palate. Its dry notes are similar to vanilla and anise.
A rum made with the purest part of distillation. They use china’s grown in mountains of Puerto Rico and brought to the distillery in Vieques where it is worked by hand. The infusion process takes at least 10 months before it can be bottled. The result is a highly aromatic rum that highlights the characteristics of the fruit from its harvest. Its flavor is smooth on the palate, but with an alcohol content of 35%. Its perfect for replacing any orange-based liquor in a recipe, especially cocktails like Margaritas and Painkillers.
Made with 100% Puerto Rican coffee and sugar cane molasses and aged for a minimum of 14 months and infused with Puerto Rican coffee in another 8 month process. Can be replaced with any cordial making this rum a perfect blend for Espresso Martinis, Bushwhackers, and Coquito.
